“A successful games cannot be achieved without the support of the community, in terms of volunteers, organization and corporate participation. We are honoured to be associated with the 2014 BC Games legacy and wish all athletes the very best in their future individual and team disciplines. We know that an athlete’s participation in the games is a key step for their overall development in future endeavours.”
The donation from The Nanaimo Port Authority, as a Platinum level Sponsor, allowed for the successful execution of the sailing event and the opportunity to present gold and silver medals to the winners. Additionally, The Port Authority’s support for every athlete with a games’ pin remains as a reminder of their Nanaimo Games experience and underwrites the value of corporate leadership for the successful execution of the 2014 Games.
Dumas goes on to say: “We were honoured to host a Friends of the Games event at our Cruise Welcome Centre for games dignitaries and sponsors, on behalf of the community. The feedback from attendees was very positive and reflects the warm hospitality that Nanaimo is known for with our cruise passengers and visitors to our beautiful harbour.”
