Nanaimo Port Authority Plans First in Series of Public Engagement Open Houses Thursday, February 22, 4 PM to 7 PM at Port Theatre

The Nanaimo Port Authority plans to hold a number of Public Engagement Open Houses during 2018. The first Open House is Thursday February 22 at the Port Theatre, 4 PM to 7 PM – Mezzanine Level. The Port will provide information outlining various activities that the Port Authority engages in on a daily and broad basis. This public forum provides an opportunity to meet Port Authority Board of Directors & Senior Staff face-to-face. Learn about the port and what the port is working on that affects the community on a local and regional basis.
Information will be available regarding:
- Downtown Marina Revitalization Project
- Harbour Safety & Security
- Environmental Impacts and Protection
- Development of the Port
- Land Use in and around Nanaimo’s Harbour
“Public engagement provides an opportunity for us to hear about community concerns and perceptions on a first-hand basis. This opportunity for direct contact with the local and regional community is important to our Board and staff.
