Nanaimo Port Authority Supports Nanaimo Child Development

Mr. Bernie Dumas, President & CEO of the Nanaimo Port Authority is pleased to announce its support for the Nanaimo Child Development Society with a cheque of $2500. The Port Authority’s commitment assists with the Society’s mission to promote optimum child development by serving children with developmental needs and their families.

“We know that the Nanaimo Child Development Society plays a major role in the community’s overall health and the Nanaimo Port Authority wants to lend its support,” states Dumas.

The vision of the Nanaimo Child Development Centre is an inclusive community where children and youth with developmental needs, and their families, are able to achieve their potential without experiencing barriers. Families are supported to ensure their children are happy, successful, accepted by their peers and contribute to their community with the gifts they bring.

Scott Bradford, Executive Director comments: “The Nanaimo Port Authority has been changing young lives through the Child Development Centre for the past 30 years. As Gold sponsor of our Silly Boat Regatta, they have raised an estimated $75,000 for kids in this community with a combination of cash and in-kind on-the-water services. We are thrilled that the Port Authority continues to partner with us and we look forward to another outstanding – and fun – Regatta this July 13th!”
